We took a trip to the Zoo the week after Christmas....
and what a fun time we had!!!
So ever wonder why some Flamingos are PINK and some are WHITE?Flamingos filter-feed on shellfish and algae. Their oddly-shaped beaks are specially adapted to separate mud and silt from the food they consume, and are uniquely used upside-down. The filtering of food items is assisted by hairy structures called lamellae which line the mandibles, and the large rough-surfaced tongue. It is the shellfish and shrimps which flamingos eat which give them their distinctive pink colour, otherwise they would be white
Check out Tamani...the new baby elephant. Not sure if this is its Mom because it hung around all the elephants, however, it played with this one the most, so maybe this is the Mama.

I liked the zoo I hear there is a small one in Stanford which is outside of Orlando.
